Entry 09
If you need me I’ll be here …
I haven’t posted a deep update on book two in a while and it feels like the right time. In the midst of the summer craze and being a mom of 2, I got minimal writing done. Instead, I focused on marketing & promoting Book 1, knowing that Book 2 (Soul of Solace) had its structure fully formed and would be ready for me when I had the time. Now that school is back in session and I find myself with more solitary moments at home I’ve been able to deep dive back into my favorite fantasy world, Capsian.
Part one has been written and done for a while now, alpha readers have experienced the fun, but I decided to re-immerse myself the best way possible, by reading my work! After printing a rough draft of part 1 I’ve realized there is so much more development and detail that needs to go in to do this book justice. (I’ll tell you a secret, this might be my favorite part of Solace’s story.) because of that, it deserves the most thought-out attention to the details. But I’m ready for it.
Diving back into my writing cave brings me so much joy. I find that this process for me comes with a solid routine and finding little bits of time between the busiest of moments. The last time I did this I was completely silent about it, working endless hours while no one but my husband and kiddos knew what I was doing. This time there’s a bit more pressure because now there are readers anxiously awaiting what comes next, (how dare I leave with that cliffhanger.)
But to wrap up my update, I’m so excited to share this book once it’s reached its full potential. I’m looking forward to exploring Solace’s new bond, her found magic, and seeing the dramatics these side characters are going to stir up, as well as deep diving into our favorite MMC’s history and healing through the traumas we are about to experience together.
