Entry 07

I’ve doubled my sales goals for April and we aren’t even halfway through the month.

What is this crazy world where I’ve managed to hit a record number of Kindle pages read on Amazon and sold more books than I had pre-ordered? I’m ecstatic! At every new goal or record achieved, I never seem to lose the absolute awe-inspiring feeling that comes along with it.

So how did I do it?

Unfortunately, I had a TikTok (finally) get some traction. Any other indie authors out there struggling with the algorithm? No? Just me? Happy indie author month… Anyway, I hit a sweet spot and got tons of views talking about the crazy spice level with the shadow daddy in my book compared to the Fourth Wing series. (Watch it here.) And while I know my characters are no Xaden Riorson, I do know that they have their own characteristics that get my readers so emotionally invested that they message me demanding more! (and don’t worry, more is coming.)

So while I’m thrilled that April is becoming a record romantasy book month for me, I’m also very aware that it may not last. TikTok ban anyone?

For now, I’m relishing in this amazing, unexpected month while I curl up with a cup of tea and spend an excruciating amount of time staring at Google Drive while I write book two.
