Entry 03

In a short few hours Sight of Solace will be available to the public. I spent my morning showered in love by my family and friends receiving gifts and words of encouragement as I prepare to celebrate this milestone with them.

As much of this book has been my doing, there’s so many others that contributed to making this happen and helped form my journey.

My acknowledgments can be found in the back of my book, but as a salute to those who helped me I want to publish my thank you’s first.

I know this is the part of the book that most people skip over but for those of you who don’t, I appreciate your enthusiasm. 

Creating Sight of Solace started as nothing more than a creative outlet for me. A ray of sunshine that found me in the deep depths of seasonal depression in 2022. I was never a writer, I was never going to publish a book. Until I did. Inspired and supported by my husband and my never ending love for smut fantasy books, it came to fruition on a Google Drive document in a matter of months. Solace’s story still has so far to go and I hope that every reader that fell in love with this book continues on to grow with me as we experience her journey together.

To my closest friends, Ali and Lynsy, I can’t even express my gratitude to you. From listening to me world building and spinning theories for hours, your undying excitement to read my work, unlimited Kindle copies, and text threads; you always supported me through the anxieties of making this book a real-life dream come true. If it wasn't for you I would have never had the guts to publish this book. You guys are seriously the MVPs throughout this journey. You’ve lived, breathed, and read this piece so many times I’m sure it’s become a part of you as it has me. A big thank you to my friend and confidant, Gloria, who has practically become my editor; going through each chapter with a fine toothcomb.
